Awakening

Awakening

When the heart and soul beat together in their quest
To ask the questions of a lover they would know
Then will she not only be caressed
But in this seeking also be undressed

In my asking am I too divesting of my clothes ?
For the questions shall, by their revealing,
Divest us of all robes from head to toes;
An energy between us swiftly flows.

In my awakening I feel that I am touched, not mocked,
Because I have an interest in ancient lore and love
In other’s searching now I seem to be de-frocked
Yet in reply such other is not shocked.

The absence of a partner fuels a yearning that is longer
And the body in so seeking hides beneath its passion
Now am I drawn; since, within, a love grows stronger ?
The love that asks of thee, what lies up yonder ?

Forces felt within the night within this body stir
Darkness turned to light; cruelty still hides her vision.
Yet in my arms the feeling that I have already held her
The fire within may burn; now even starts to smoulder.

What is this force, which pulls me ever onward
Why am I so willingly to be drawn
Does she feel her love too is driven forward
Has she felt the stirrings that are inward ?

This force is telling me that I will change my life
And find for future days a happiness.
Blessed am I if she has at last drawn forth the knife
That turned the pain of longing into strife.

I feel the need to yield, to kneel before her spell.
Naked, I come to thee, to start a life anew.
Where in the past I stumbled and oft-times fell
Now passion plays out a hand with fierceness I cannot quell.

Have now the runes been cast, is the tale already told
Are we enacting scenes that have been written ?
This love in strangeness starts now to unfold
Bringing joys and happiness; were they too foretold ?

Summer seems so long in coming; Spring is just in birth
Yet fast this love is growing deep within
Nurtured by the energy that comes from mother earth
And I would have you take me for what I’ m worth.

It seems as if two lives might start their great adventure
Searching hard for maps to guide their paths
Cast aside the scepticism that haunts the disbeliever
Let her take your soul to hers, join her in her venture !

I am undressed; the form that stands before thee
Exposed and unconcealed is there for taking
Defenceless to the forces that have drawn me;
Yet also would I take you to sit upon my knee.

If in some Celtic past it has been inscribed
That we shall some ceremony share to join our lives
Then love has with energy so been revived
The potion has been poured; I have imbibed !
