Seeking Endymion’s Lover

Seeking Endymion’s Lover

I may stand on the shore and howl to her face

Or call through the leaves of some sacred grove

That I share with the badger and fox

Watch her face roll across old stones

Light up the mound that cares for ancient bones

She never displayed flowing hair or golden locks

She just looked down upon the rituals that we wove

Moving before the twinkling stars; ne’er in haste.

We took the magic trip to dance beneath her beams

Watched the night Queen sail across blackened seas

She watched me as I set the paper lanterns adrift

Spirits carried by boats upon the tide

Souls returning to her across the great divide

We kneel to give thanks to Isis for her gift

This lady, who fades and shines to tease

Nocturnal lantern to guide us through the scenes

She who flirts with me but loves the horned God

I am the seeker of the night, what lies beyond ?

She is the gateway to paradise beyond a field of stars

Metra of the east, when this course of life is run

Give me the strength to live again when dancing children come

You may keep your crowns, your kings and fancy czars

I look into Diana’s mirror like tous le monde

I am the seeker of the moondrop on the path so often trod.

Moonlight Visits

Moonlight visits

We’re the daughters of Diana looking for our stag
Dancing in the moonbeams on Summer’s brightest night
Bowstrings taut and arrows sharp, in greenery we’re clad
Seek the mystery of the grove, you shall find our light

We are the sirens of the stars, beating on the drum
Watch our bodies swaying, sweat glistens from our skin
Our lunar love waxing high for Horned Ones to come
Welcome to the huntress’ world, why not step right in ?

Beneath moonlight, whilst in your bed, sleeping with your dream
As Endymion’s love was stole, I took your kiss
Lay with you on satin sheets to be your midnight queen
With my parted lips I claimed your youth leaving bliss

We’re silent sirens seeking sensual satisfaction
Apollo’s shafts shape shift within our hands tonight
Massaged quivering arrows firm to our attraction
Seven daughters of Niobe envy our delight

With amorous advances we’ll lead you to our shrines
Hidden deep within our caves our great riches find
The burning fires deep within where moonlight never shines
Orion’s borrowed light ne’er quenched what you may bind

Wake not from nocturnal dreams whilst we are still disrobed
Thrill within might turn to fear waking as a stag
To the daughters of Diana you have been betrothed
Sleep on, the sun will rise, the stem begin to sag

Wake to the drop that glistens upon the shining orb
Drawn forth from visitation by the moon in flight
Hunted Actaeon’s fate avoid, you shall keep your sword
Daughters of Diana shall pleasure bring each night.

Picture Unframed: The Glade

Picture Unframed: The glade

The log had become a friend to her

A place of both memory and hope

So much that could linger and occupy her mind

The history stored in a hundred rings or more

Until the old beech had fallen in an Autumn storm

The best of the timber seized by a local farmer

But a part still lay peacefully in the open glade

A bracket fungus was growing at one end

Spreading over the rings in gentle orange waves

The log had become a home for so many

Moss hung from the peeling bark

Which itself was clinging to the old trunk

She could still see the dark green colour

As reflected rays from a full moon lit up the scene

A moon bright enough to cast a shadow beneath a nearby oak

She gazed into the beauty of the night sky

Looking for the patterns among the stars

Twinkling forms that seemed so close

Yet in space were many light years away

Lights in the sky that had guided so many to their homes

She remembered him showing her the pond

Where the night sky was reflected from still water

How in olden times this was used to map the sky

She had waited for him before in this glade

A small enclosure that had become theirs at night

A rustling in the trees behind her

A small animal perhaps a squirrel not yet at rest

Returning to a family in a drey

Now she detected the sound of twigs

As the squirrel found its home

Now a hoot coming from further away

The sound traveling effortlessly through the sky

An owl was announcing a presence

But for whom was this message intended

She watched the form glide effortlessly overhead

Heading out over the ripening fields of wheat

Then the silence once more

She sat on the log and waited

A new feeling came over her

That of being aware she was not alone

The eyes were staring at her

She could see them beyond the gorse bushes

The eyes seemed to capture her

As she stared back without moving her head

What was it that they shared

The two of them in this glade

So late on an Autumn night

Then she must have made a slight movement

Startling her onlooker

As the deer turned and sped into the night

Leaving her once more alone with her thoughts

Thinking of him and all the times she had waited before

The nervousness of wondering if he would come

How her mind would wander

Between the hope and the fear

How her heart would beat a little faster

When she heard his footsteps

A tread that had become imprinted in her mind

Tonight was different

Why had she come

Was it to relive a memory

Was there still some hope even a belief

That he would come again

She sat patiently upon her log

No it was upon their log

Watching the moon traverse the night sky

Until her heart would lead her homewards

Where she would pass the graveyard

Where the stone stood

Could her life ever be the same

Goth 3. Goth not Goth is Goth

Goth 3 Goth not Goth is Goth

We’ll get married when I’m buried

I’m the kinda thinker that’s down to earth

I’ll be wearing my pink platform boots

I’ve died my hair purple with a touch of green

Good job you canna see the roots

Lying in my coffin

I’ll be carried down the aisle

With four bridesmaids

Vampires in Carmilla style

Wearing gas masks and bullet belts

The priest is dressed up as a nurse

And I love his wicked smile

You’ll be watching from the graveyard

On you thousand dollar phone

Thinking of those nights we spent

And how you heard me moan

The universe is changing fast

Life is turning pastel pale

The world turned upside down today

But we already set our sail

You blew your chance on our second date

Turning up dressed all in noir

Only vampires can be late

Stop telling us that we not genuine

Say we should be dressed in black

Like some creatures of the night

Seeking those coming back

There’s a black cat with pale blue whiskers

Stalking along the beams

And I don’t care if there’s a tear

In my fishnet stocking seams

I’m staring at the ceiling

Where rainbow bats are flying

Perhaps they can understand

Why my wedding is about my dying

Like a Kerli barbie I’ll be rising

From the satin in the coffin lining

There’s a rapper once wanted me

But I left him whining

He go too fast

I liked it slow

I’m lifting the pine lid from the submissive gloom

Dressed in a green cobweb cape

My pink platform boots got to glitter

I’ve a moon tattoo on my nape

Got my hair done so straight

A bubblegum kind of thing

Cos it sparkles in light and dark

I’m writing a song I might sing

All about your meeting fate

With my maidens we perform nocturnal rites

Under floodlights

Of course

For the voyeur’s eyes they are delights

Stuck out like lollipop sticks

Exposing all those hidden sights

The flesh that lies beneath the tights

Which men salivate upon

Behind closed doors

I got them dots put on my forehead

I am a child of the moon

There’s a hidden sunflower tattoo

That you might see quite soon

I got love but I also got respect

There’s a side of life I know I can’t neglect

We standing here in unity

While you bound by chains of conformity

Me I’m released by the shackles

That I placed upon myself

While you stay pilloried in stocks

Strangled by your wealth
