Rebirth
Stirs now the seed in nature’s deepest womb
Like a spell cast to break a dormancy
So doth the flower now in bud seek to bloom
A stirring of germination as yet in infancy
The ageing tree withering from fiercest storm
Where truth lay withering within deep roots
Seeks out the brightest light to be reborn
A stirring in the cells to put forth green shoots
The apple now offered so plump juicy and ripe
Has sweetness that lies beneath red-blushed skin
Is the flesh inside an offering to entice the bite
A ceremonial gesture for new life to begin
Hearken to the sound of song upon the tree
The skylark’s notes an offering to be free
Who will find the lyrics to the beauteous melody
This key to unlock the mysteries of an entity
The seed seeks out the hope of nourishment
Such new growth inspires the flower to bloom again
Nature’s mysteries expressed by her bewitchment
Unravelling the spell within the nightingale’s refrain
Busy bee shall be the messenger of pollination
Dancing for enticement at the entrance to her hive
The honeyed taste of such attraction
Provides temptation to keep the twig alive
